The Mavuno Project
The Mavuno Project, a South Florida initiative dedicated to empowering youth and communities through education and awareness. Our mission is to create safer environments by delivering essential workshops and training across Miami Dade County, Broward County, and in Charter and Private schools. We actively engage with the community through outreach events and provide specialized corporate training and workshops to further our impact.
Our Programs
At The Mavuno Project, we offer a range of specialized workshops designed to equip students and the community with the knowledge and skills to navigate today’s challenges safely and confidently.
Human Trafficking Workshops:
- Our Human Trafficking Workshops educate students on the dangers and signs of human trafficking. We focus on prevention strategies, recognizing red flags, and providing resources for those in need. Our workshops are appropriate for ages 8+
- Goal: Learn tactics used by traffickers, spot the signs, tell a trusted adult, empower students to protect themselves and others, and raise awareness.
Financial Empowerment Field Trips:
- Overview: These field trips provide students with real-world financial education. Participants learn essential skills to make informed financial decisions.
- Goals: Equip students with the knowledge to achieve financial independence and security, fostering long-term success.
Internet Safety Workshops:

- Overview: In today’s digital age, internet safety is more important than ever. Our workshops teach students how to navigate the online world safely, avoiding risks such as cyberbullying, scams, and inappropriate content.
- Goals: Ensure students are informed and equipped to use the internet responsibly and safely.
Corporate Prevention Training:
Beyond schools and communities, The Mavuno Project also offers Corporate Prevention Training. These sessions are tailored to businesses and organizations, helping them recognize and prevent human trafficking and other safety concerns within the workplace. We are skilled in the hospitality industry, multi-family housing, healthcare and teacher development training. By equipping corporations with this knowledge, we aim to create safer environments for everyone.
Community Outreach Events:
We believe in the power of community. Our outreach events are designed to engage and educate the broader community, fostering a collective effort in preventing issues like human trafficking, financial exploitation, and unsafe internet use.
