About Us

Our Mission:

The Mavuno Project aims to raise awareness & prevention on Human Trafficking and Sexual Abuse via Mission Trips to dis-enfranchised communities internationally and locally. We also share a message of Hope that will set the captive free.

Our Vision:

To eradicate Human Trafficking & Sexual Abuse through the power of education and and a message of hope all over the world.

The History of The Mavuno Project

The Mavuno Project started in 2009 when working inside the stripclubs to sell jewelry and seeing Human Trafficking played out right infront of my eyes.

Life in the back stages of strip clubs is very different then what is being portrayed on stage. It was very common for girls to get drunk and high on drugs. What I found most interesting; when they got drunk or high, they always spoke about their situation.

Very few of the girls were there based on their own decision and financial needs, in matter of fact most of the girls I met were slaves, they were sex workers caught in the underground crime of Human Sex Trafficking. As dangerous as this might sound, I knew I was exactly where I needed to be, I knew that I had found my purpose, I knew that I needed to be a voice for those who cannot speak, a voice for FREEDOM.

The Mavuno Project became an official 501c3 in 2017 with the mission of raising awareness locally and internationally. We host Human Trafficking Mission Trips, Seminars and Events all with our goal in mind.

Mavuno is Swahili for Harvest.
